Filtration

A filter system is essential in any water garden in order to control algae and maintain water quality. The two types of filters available are Pressurized and Gravity filters..

Pressurized Filters

A pressurized filter is an enclosed canister filter wich is installed inline in the tubing from the pump. These filters are installed anywhere outside the pond and are available in a range of different sizes. The types of ponds perfect for pressurized filters are formal ponds and ponds containing plant and/or small fish (goldfish).

See product list for a listing of brands.

Gravity Filters

A gravity filter is positioned above the pond surface at the side of the pond or at the top of the waterfall where the outlet gravity feeds back to the pond. These filters are available in a range of sizes and are effective for all ponds such as formal ponds containg plants/fish (goldfish), but are essential for koi ponds.
